He didn't use a taxi, trust me. He used a bicycle for most if not all of it---no taxi was involved.

Taxi cab? Seriously? Are you 90? He would need to coordinate the pick up locations and taxis just aren’t reliable. Uber would be better but coordinating in advance with a friend is the option that makes most sense.

At least you didn’t suggest that he used bikes or motor scooters.

Wow, any reference to Dr Frank Meza removed from the Loyola High School website, they're obviously taking it seriously and must have had input from the Principal and Head Coach Diaz.

No page referencing him as Assistant Coach or World Record Holder, in Frank's world that's big, up until now the mans been hailed as some kind of god (note lower case 'g') at LHS, this from 2015:

A friend of mine already does this.

He started sometime last year and says he has about 70 clients. They pay him anywhere from comped race entry to $500. I think he said the average is about $250 per race event. Not enough to make a living off of, but some nice extra cash.

An extra $15-20K isn't bad work.

If he used a bike it would have to be one of those electric ones, he's not fit enough to pedal between points + the small amount of running.

Wonder what Frank's pal Phillip Bland had to say about it?, this is part of what PB had to say about FM to Amby Burfoot:

"Frank is a phenomenal runner and I have great respect for him."

I suspect Frank is in decent shape for 70, and probably capable for running 7-7:30 pace for a few miles.

Someone running 7:30/pace from the start, would appear to be able to easily get to the 5k mat under 20 minutes, cutting the course just before 2 miles, skipping the 'Chinatown' loop. Similar '1 mile' short-cut opportunity from 5k to 10k (probably even enough time to stretch).

Honestly, the guy looks pretty damn good for being 70+. Not sub three hour marathon shape, but pretty damn fit.

Legit questions: What is your marathon PR and at what race did you run it?

Could we step back and just take a minute to appreciate some words from Frank Meza?
