I can't reiterate this enough. The Loyola program aside from this insanity of Frank Meza is an amazing program. When I spoke to some of my old teammates about this, most of them were in disbelief. kegboy - thanks for your input. And if it means anything, I don't think anyone truly sees this as reflective of the Loyola program. I know some big names have come out of that school, so I would have no trouble believing it's a fantastic program. The only "bad guy" in this is Frank himself, and to a lesser degree, his accomplices/enablers.

I think everybody here likes your post. It is important to delineate clearly so that a man's mistakes do not discredit the good work of many.

so sorry for the school. Candidly, I knew very little about it but ironically I do now. It highlights again the failings of Dr. Meza to say to Burfoot that he ran on Sundays with the "boys. " So reckless especially for a "coach" who should know the rules whether it's true or not. I think we all have to understand that his public comments on this are nonsense or half truths at best (i.e., "I ran 100 mile weeks;" ). Why he would risk the school's reputation and the many who went there is beyond me.

Would it be that difficult to use a cab to get you from point to point? Tell cabbie that you want to watch someone run the marathon and have take you to the start. Have the cab wait, go to start pass your chip over the mat, go back to cab and have them take you to the next mat, presumably to watch your friend pass by. Have cab wait, get out run over mat the go back to cab, etc.

Cabbie doesn't suspect anything because you are dressed like you just got out of bed.

All the photos used are available on the FinisherPix website. You are free to purchase the hi-res originals yourself and try to show that they’ve been altered.

If were up to me, I would use a bike - less traffic issues, maneuverable. I'd park it near each mat and wait perhaps on the sidewalk or on the side of the road stretching. Don't be too right brained and think too abstractly.
