Definitely a lot of random hires. I am all for giving people opportunity but it has been interesting to see the direction a lot of these programs have gone. Resumes and previous production seem to have a lot less to do with these hires than who you know.
What's up with the Georgia position?
Missouri State screwed up when they discontinued their men's CC/Track programs. That entire schools' athletic program is a mess.

Hey I've been paying my dues. I'm patient but it's about time. I love coaching so I don't want to sound likenI'm complaining too much. I just would love to start a family very soon and the current school I'm at is just not the best situation to do that. I continue to develop All-Americans with very limited resources, so enough with the randomness.
Its become about who u know and thats it. Most dont even get calls because these schools know who they want before giving a fair chance to others.

Really, anymore there's no dues paying, you are a good coach. It doesn't matter though. You have to know the person at the college.
If you take the word of several kids' Facebook posts on the team, looks like Washington State hired Angela Whyte (Canadian Olympian in 100 hurdles & finalist in Moscow last year) as an assistant coach. Just waiting on the WSU release.
The way the WSU handled the hiring & announcing who they are has been so bad. A blind Stevie Wonder locked up in a dark basement could see this hire coming! Is Bill Moos (WSU AD) that incompetent?

Anyone know what happened with Carrie Lane at Nebraska?
I like Bill Moos, he just knows that track and field is a huge money loser and he needs to focus on football. I wish the Cougars would've widened their search a bit more, but I'd rather they start winning in football so in the future they can hire even better coaches in all sports.
As much as I like track and field, most people don't care about it. Outside of Hayward Field and a few other spots, a meet is lucky to draw 300 people and most of those are just parents and boyfriends and girlfriends of the athletes.
What about the tuition and fee dollars that track athletes bring to the university? Most d1 schools have between 50-100 per team. Adds up to a ton of money for the university

Absolutely. Per gender the average track team has on average 80 members.
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte recently had an opening for a Head Cross Country Position

If you have been doing so well coaching and have not moved into a better position, then you are not doing a good job networking. When I first started coaching, as a distance coach, i did everything in my power to get to know sprints coaches. They are going to end up hiring distance coaches.
Because of this I was able to go from high school, to volunteer, to GA, to small college, to Big time college in a matter of 7 years. Now I have a coaching job I love that pays very well and have been able to start a family. If you are that frustrated maybe you should look at what you are doing.
I also really kissed up to women coaches since they have been moving up quicker than men!
Leave it to Charlotte to take forever updating their website, any info on candidates for the job?
