We have a new 2024 vaccine thread here. New people don't need to try to wade through 20,000 posts to figure out what is going on.
Of course natural infection confers immunity. That immunity is decent. Recent studies suggest, for example, that a single Omicron infection does not confer robust immunity against other COVID strains -- just as single dose of the vaccine does not! I do not think a single infection is acceptable as 'immunity' given the divergence we have seen in COVID strains.
You are absolutely anti-vaxx because you do far more than simply enjoy your purported natural immunity, you are on here posting all the time about the "failures" of the vaccine and various untested, questionably safe regimens you propose instead.
I accept that some people will never get the vaccine for reasons that aren't rational. I harbor little resentment against them. However, if you insist on posting misinformation about the safety and efficacy of vaccines then yeah, you're an antivaxxer and I take issue.
You responded to half my post, as per usual.
The vaccine above is interesting because even more narrowly focused on RBD, not spike.
However, if one has had both confirmed Delta and Omicron, why is that worse immunity than two shots plus booster vs ancestral strain? Oh, it’s not.
People have died because of the vaccine. I know one, and I have multiple friends who know victims. Hence the cynicism, particularly when natural immunity has already been acquired and is very likely more robust and durable, especially w multiple variant challenges.

No one who‘s being reasonable will say that having been infected by both Delta and Omicron provides significantly worse immunity than two shots plus booster. By now you should know that how Harambe will respond is by saying that if that person has multiple infections AND gets vaccinated, that person will have even more robust immunity. That‘s the point you want to debate.
Second, your point on vaccine injuries is fair and I believe you. But you should be able to anticipate the obvious response from someone who is pro-vax, which will be that there are many people who know plenty of people who have died of COVID and are sensitive to this fact.

Sure, if your immunization strategy is just to keep getting COVID over and over, go right ahead. It's clear the for the unvaccinated, the risks are higher after (re)infection for both immediate severe illness and long-term sequelae. Effectively you are just choosing to take a less safe 'vaccine' (repeated infection) over the mRNA (or other) shots. Your choice but certainly irrational! (Not to mention the societal effects of cultivating longer COVID infections, transmission, variant evolution, etc.)
I'll take my broad memory B-cell response and superior T-cell response that challenges with vaccines give.
Agree that new vaccine modalities are exciting. We certainly don't know enough to insist one method is better than another, so good to just make a bunch and try them if the $$ is there.
You are very assertive that we accept your anecdotal evidence as justification for your irrational behavior around vaccines. Fair enough. I accept that you are using a poor justification to act irrational.

Steel-man your arguments, people.
Look, the argument that "I can just keep getting COVID and exposing myself to outsize risk of severe events" is solid. I can't argue with someone who chooses to put themselves and their family through excess risk simply because "Vaccine Bad." Irrational choices with irrational justifications are still choices. I can't force someone to take the vax -- but I certainly don't mind if they, for example, lose their job over it (especially if they are the type to spread misinformation on top of their poor personal choices).

Is your intention with this post to show that for some people natural immunity is as feeble as vaccination at preventing future infection? It's been established that you can get Delta and Omicron, and that you can get vaccinated and get Omicron.

She got Covid 12 days after her booster.
This proves nothing about natural immunity.
It does show all these boosters do not stop infection.
If its been established you can get Covid despite all the boosters, why push boosters?

Vaccines were probably a net positive early on for the at risk, but at this point in time they look to be a net health negative, and always were for the young and healthy.
