Yes his accusations against Aden have no credibility, except for all those vials of EPO they found in the raid. Think before you post moron.

David knows more about what is going on in doping than 99% of those on these boards. When he talks whether what he says is PC or not people should be taking note. I totaling get where's he coming from as someone who dedicates his life to the sport only to continue getting screwed by dopers. The way he called out athletes here was questionable but the bottom line is we have been giving very questionable performances and athletes a free pass for too long.

It's always dicey to call out individualswho haven't been caught like David did. But the top athletes have a pretty good idea who's clean and whose dirty whether they have hard evidence or not. I'm glad someone's taking a strong stand against the cheaters. David has done things that have annoyed people throughout his career and has created some other baggage so he may not be the right person to be making thes bold statements.

But I just gained a lot of respect for his courage and cojones if not his judgement.

The only thing which brought down Lance was a large number of teammates telling the truth while facing perjury charges if they didn't. Given the much smaller retinue of people which surrounds someone like Lagat in comparison to a pro cycling team, the odds are low someone is going to come forward with damning direct evidence. But to think that only the sprinters are juiced, or that otherworldly performances at age 40+ are occurring clean, or that he doesn't come from a country where doping has been rampant in distance runners for years, is a bit naive IMHO.

Also keep in mind Lagat is about to turn 42. It's not like he just turned 40. What will people say if he's still doing this at 50? What will it take before the sheep wake up and start questioning these ridiculous times?

For those defending Lagat and not even questioning his performance at nearly 42 years of age:

Let's say Lagat continues to run and train for 2020. At those trials he'll be just short of 46. Let's say he makes the team again, closes in 54 and runs in the 13:30-13:40...will you guys still believe that's legit? He's obviously capable of doing that provided he doesn't get injured. I just wonder where is the limit when you young track fans finally take off the blinders?

I ask because as a track fan for more than 3 decades I have a pretty good bs meter. I started thinking Lagat's times were questionable about 4 years ago when he was nearly 38 and closing in on 40. Now here we are 4 years on and he closes out a 5K in 52 sec? No friggin way. It reminds me of Mo Farah's one-off 1500 in 3:28 back in 2013. It was the clincher for me that Mo was a big time doper. Yesterday's performance by Lagat was the clincher for me. That guy is dirty.

Use to race Torrance. He's a good guy. Kinda girly move running for Peru though. Enough talent to make US Team IMO. Talks like a white guy in Spanish.

But he needed to say this. Lagat is protected. A lot of big names are. Torrance knows the culture and industry of the sport.

PS Lagat is older than we all could dream. Kenyans lie about being 18 when they're really 24. Lagat is pushing 40.

I would have been fine if he'd said, "I hate to say it but I'm suspicious of Bernard Lagat. It needs to be remembered that he had an A test positive for EPO in 2003 and now he's closing a 5000 in 52 at age 41. For the most part, our sport has taught us over the years that , 'If something seems too good to be true, it is.' I'd really like to know more about how an A test can be positive and B be negative as it just seems too good to be true for me.'

I lost the train of thought when he started talking about rumours as I wasn't sure if those were referring to Lagat or just in general. But in the end, his rant will result in good stuff resulting as we'll know do a story on A / B. It's certainly a story that needs to be addressed as this dark cloud has been hanging over his career just like the NOP allegations with Rupp.

Mastersrankings show 17 40-44 folks that run the 400 under 54 seconds so, it is doable.

The understanding of how to run an EPO test has improved dramatically since this incident and the consistent rerunning of the test samples will be outing more PED users as time goes on. However, the stability of the metabolites of EPO and EPO is miniscule compared to meldonium and anabolic steroids.

You say you have a good BS meter but it didn't start going off on Lagat until 4 years ago? I'm curious what it takes for your meter to go off because Bernie has been questionable for years.
