Nice timing, Bro. Nice timing.
Far from it.
During my interviews with Flanagan, another journalist said, "Are you going to ask him if he feels the USADA investigation is a thing of the past?" I said, "No I"m not. I don't feel like it's necessary. It's a great debut for Rupp. That can wait for another day."
Once I heard Goucher's comments (I didn't ask a single doping question in my first interview. I had stopped interviewing Goucher and was interviewing another athlete when I heard the topic come up and decided I'd better start recording), I decided I 100% was going to ask Rupp about it at the main press conference. If I didn't, then I wasn't doing my job and should just save thousands of bucks and watch it on television.
I just very matter of factly read off what she said and asked Rupp for his response, which he gave.
I don't know why people view any of this as awful for the sport. Manning just won the Super Bowl with HGH allegations. It's called life. Things are complicated.
Don't shoot the messenger. I didn't create this controversy. Salazar, Rupp, Magness, Goucher, etc did.
It is truly disturbing how many people don't want journalists to ask questions. No wonder this country is where it is.

The investigation has been going on for what.. like 3 months? More?
I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that USADA would have let Galen start/run/win/qualify/dominate camera time/bring more attention to himself if they had ANY evidence that he (and his team) were about to "sink".
Galen (and NOP) are grey-line clean.. the best kind of clean ;)
Three months ... that is the instant gratification demand of a millennial.
LOL ... how many years was Lance Armstrong retired BEFORE he was brought down?

On what planet is the career of a female U.S. marathoner over after she's just run 2:30 in abysmal conditions, probably worth a 2:25 on a cool day in Chiacgo? Obviously you're not in medical school -- I've known some dumb doctors, but none stupid enough to come up with what you and various others have.

One thing that is for sure, however, is that she didn't have to stay there for seven years if she didn't like the culture there. To that issue, she did have control over her destiny, and for that she has no one to blame but herself.
Maybe things didn't seem shady from the get-go. Maybe they did.
But ask yourself this: Even if one or both Gouchers juiced like crazy along with the rest of the NOP cyborgs, and only decided later to come clean after an attack of conscience or owing to resentment or both, does that in any way change the fact that Salazar is a piece of garbage?
This is not what military strategists like to call a zero-sum game. Even if Kara Goucher is a complete whiner and a tragicomic figure who not only doped but has had sex with underage kids with Down sydrome, Alberto is still a master of malice and a cheater extraordinaire, and always has been. He is also a super-tough competitor and was a hell of a talent, but these qualities, also, are not arguments against his foul play. Does it really take a ton of smarts to figure these things out?
The first paragraph of my post (which you disregarded) addresses this, and hopefully the facts will eventually surface. Regardless, Kara had a choice to leave NOP at any time if she didn't like it there. She stayed with them for SEVEN YEARS! If, like you say, it doesn't take a ton of smarts to figure out for us, as outsiders, that Alberto uses "foul play", then Kara, as an insider, would have to be mentally disabled (which obviously, she's not) to not have recognized it way before 7 years. Assuming you are correct, she was complacent or complicit for a good part of the time she was there. Any way you slice it, she has no one to blame but herself for the way it effected her career. Alberto, cheater or not, did not force her to stay there all those years.
Also implies you are gray line dirty.
Sad commentary on pro sports

They are indeed. Rupp "performed" yesterday so the squad was released to sway "public opinion" on LRC. This is a typical public relations move. What is reveals is that Salazar is very worried.

Agreed. They might just be garden-variety idiots.
Of course, it cuts both ways. Almost every supporter of Kara or Salazar critic is met with a "Hi Adam!" from the rabble, as if Adam Goucher would have the time to churn out a dozen posts an hour here even if he had the motivation (and he knows better).

You must be new here. Salazar has unleashed his family (daughter Maria has posted elsewhere about her concerns about posts on these forums, even though Salazar has claimed she does not waste any time here), and PR drones-goons-soldiers on these forums (The Mo Brit-based Freud's PR team). His fanboys just go along for the ride.

When all of this first came out I was really impressed with her but it became increasingly more and more obvious that it was mostly show. Do the NOP athletes do some questionable things, yes. Do they walk a thin line between what is legal in athletics, most definitely. Do they straight up dope, no. Are they incredibly cooperative with doping authorities, yes. Do they have the most tested athletes in the sport, yes. Has anyone tested positive, no. Do they train ridiculously hard, I don't know depends if you consider 140 miles a week with your easy runs at 5:20 pace hard.
Sums the situation quite well.
The only thing that post sums up (or "sums," for the borderline illiterate) is that whoever wrote it doesn't have the first clue about anything to do with either running or the NOP. 140 miles a week at 5:20 pace? Who actually believes such shit, wherever it comes from? And the rest of the claims fall into line from there: uninformed, speculative, straight-up laughable or all three.

Like they did on video yesterday.
I never read any released emails but I thought there rumors abt Salazar hitting on Kara?!
As the "First Title Sponsor of World Marathon Majors" you have the pharma expertise, the legal resources, and made a major marketing statement to drive a get-clean effort. So far, minimal effort in my opinion - stagger the $500000 prize payout for the majors - big deal that is what percentage of your marketing budget?
Nestle had the guts to confront IAAF. When is it your turn?

You are correct sir. The thread made it 3 pages and word must have gotten out and at least one or two have been told to post rebuttal and question Kara's emotional health.
Her comments weren't the most graceful for sure, but she has the stones to do it in public on camera and own the comments. I give her a lot of credit for that. Some may not like it but that has more meaning that a written statement prepared by lawyers.

She's Newtonesque.
Don't call women whores, you revolting pig.
Why don't we just treat everyone with respect? Including people who say stupid things...
KARA WAS THREATENED YESTERDAY!! Yeah, that's right, she was THREATENED.
