The Grandma's Marathon website has started to add the results from the early years. Believe it or not they are just scans of the typed lists. The first year is actually hand written (Bjorklund in 2:21).

i will post an updated list soon. i added his name along with some new names, qualifying standards for other races etc.

i have been looking for a site with proof of dana carvey's time, but cant find one.

the other area i was looking to add were some names of celebrity types that are not American, but at the same time had a following beyond a small area or cult following. i have a added a few.

i also removed a few names.

A few more celebrities not on the original list.

i got william baldwin by a few minutes. yee.

2) updated the chicago corral times

3) updated the "guaranteed" entry times for ny and removed the 2010 times

4) corrected a couple times that were out of place

At the age of 18 years old in the Ocean to Bay Marathon in 1967, I ran a 2:56, which was my first marathon and at that time broke the previous course record (2:59) for all comers, so it is certainly possible that a seventeen year old could have run a 3:04 over that course a few years later. It was one of the most difficult marathons at the time. A three hour time over that course was probably equivalent to under 2:40 for a regulation course. I do not think that race is run any more, but I noticed that sometime in the later 1970s the course record was lowered to somewhere near 2:42.
