I enjoy watching Chepchirchir run. Long flowing stride reminds me of an alternate universe version Athing Mu who focuses on the 1500 (even likes the outside of the lane too)
12:51 sounds like a pretty soft NR for a country as big as France
Not true. France is between 20th and 23rd in population (the lists I just found don't agree), but it is now 16th in NR. The only countries with a faster NR are:
Uganda
Ethiopia
Kenya
USA
Sweden
Spain
Great Britain & Northern Ireland
Canada
Norway
Bahrain
Morocco
Belgium
Guatemala
Algeria
Switzerland
India and China are the countries who are slacking in men's 5k NR based on their population size.

France isn't "big" re: population.
It is "big" regarding t&f popularity.
After this, lets see if Gressier follows through on his plans to switch to the Steeplechase.
France is most definitely big population wise compared to Sweden and Norway where the two current best European 5000 runners are from. Paris alone is like half the population of Norway.

Holloway has never been a shoo-in for the win in the 110MH. 60MH certainly, but not the 110MH if the field is one or two steps behind. And you see exactly why. Look at how he deflates over the last 3 hurdles.
Excellent win for the winner. He's at the magic 13.00 barrier. Hopes this builds his confidence and he can run sub 13.00 soon.
I've gotta say the Diamond League puts on such a good product compared to GST. Great races, bang, bang, one after another.
And the field events really add so much -- there's not a still moment between races, all different shapes and sizes displaying awesome feats of athleticism. It's a real mistake to drop the field events from the show.
Oh FFS. How long has the DL been around? How long has GST been around? You people make such inane comments so often. Why do you people work to be so stupid?
You know what's really crazy? In the last week, George Mills has run 12:46 and 3:28 and almost no one thinks he'll win a medal in Tokyo. At best, he's an outside shot. Some era we're in now
