It was interesting last week that within minutes of Wiley’s 11th place finish in the 1500 at the Xiamen DL meet, the Wiley apologists started a new thread to bash Tuohy. There was nary any mention here of Wiley’s performance or any attempts to degrade it yet the losers thought that starting a thread to bag on someone else would be a good idea. Imagine doing that instead of extolling Wiley’s commendable efforts against a great field and just commenting on how these high-level competitions are great for Wiley’s development. I did read and hear some Tuohy fans commenting to that effect but some Wiley fans, more than likely including the loser here, went the other way. Pathetic! 🙄

But this isn’t the 2024 NCAA. This is a depleted US Pro field. And regarding that, there is something getting practically zero attention that actually is a key chess piece in the outcome.

And if Tuohy shows up on the line ‘packing’ and flexing like she did at Millrose last year when she dropped an 8:35, taking the scalps of Henes and Cranny in the process, then look out.

I imagine it will be a tactical race ESP will want to control from the front.

It looks like Henes, Wayment, Morgan and Camp-Bennet are racing this weekend in a closed section fast 5 at Oxy invite. I imagine Camp-Bennet and Wayment are trying to pace Morgan for the standard.

Tuohy is not running at Oxy, Sound running 5k or pre classic. Not sure where else she would chase the standard between now and the trials. There is no sign that she is training in Flag with the rest of the pros. It seems that she is either out for the season or perhaps we see her debut at the trials.

She couldn't live up to the hype that her handful of extreme fans here had made about her.

Her instagram had a story today talking about doing a workout with her brother and it looked like she was on NC State's track

On the Boston marathon panel she said she was doing track workouts Tuesdays and Fridays I believe so she has been training, how fit she is who knows.

You know she's a pro right? Her fitness is irrelevant. She isn't competing against girls anymore.
