The SW has had 2 at large bids a few times in the past. Tough to rely on at large bids though. I've seen quite a few times when great teams were robbed from an at large bid. The most recent example is Rocky Mountain from last year as noted above.
The Herriman girls team took 3rd here. They are making some progress too
And Lone Peak has so many Bybees. Both on the boys and the girls side
Herriman girls could be a solid team. Seems like they have some girls that do good on hilly courses and some that do better on flat. They never seem to do well on the same day. Just need to learn to have a good day at the same time and they could be a top 3 team in Utah 6A.

There’s no way that Herriman didn’t tempo since they had a 12 second 1-7 spread and their #1 wasn’t Steadman which he was all season.
Looks like some of their girls did a tempo as well. Crosby(The typical #1 for Herriman)ran low 20 which is not normal for her. Wardle(The teams usual #2 or #3)ran low 19, so mayne some raced and some ran a tempo.
One person in this podcast mentioned that Orem is one of the top 4 SW boys teams

11. Maple Mountain 16:50
12. Alta 16:51On the girl's side Lone Peak just completely dominated. They are the best girl's team I've ever seen in Utah. I know Colorado has 2 outstanding teams, but LP is legit. They could win a national title. AF is very good on the girl's side as well. Definitely a top 20 team. Unfortunately it will be very hard for them to get into NXN.
There are a bunch of nationally relevant Utah girl's. Aagard and Alder are outstanding. Hedengren has been missing since Woodbridge. Hopefully she gets healthy soon(assuming she's injured).
Jaster is in the entries list for the state meet. Now American Fork has a solid top 7.

State meet live results
What a crazy state.. Hedengren hasn't raced since Woodbridge and is allowed to race State with her team? In no other state is that possible, but love it. Save 'dem legs!!

She was probably listed as one of the alternates on the end-of-season roster.
Ben Jaster (one of the American Fork’s scorers) didn’t race last meet but is racing at the state meet.
One of Riverton’s scorers didn’t race last meet but is racing at the state meet.

She was injured and very doubtful for this race. It will be interesting to see how she does.
Last minute predictions.
4a- Mountain View sweeps all. Julie Moore and Kyle Steadman wins the individual titles. MV girls win by a significant margin and MV boys beat orem by a small (less than 5 points) margin.
Yeah I think Mountain View will win over Orem on the boys side in 4A
Daniel Simmons will win 6A
Kyle Steadman will win 4A
