People that make false statements, fail to take the time to learn if their or the other persons information is correct or not, and then double down along with a negative accusation; it is those people that need to be called out.
I was very impressed with this TT/race and the others that the Bowerman track club put on. The sport of track and field in the USA hopefully took the results as a big positive in a not so positive year. As well, the intra club races that OTC and Nike’s Pete Julian’s group put on was great to watch. Great to watch Donavan Brazier expressively finish his 1500 m and can’t wait to see him run his specialty 800 m and give it a go at 400 m. Just like I look forward to the Bowerman athletes hopefully racing again at different distances.
By the way track fans; the last 200 m of the men’s 1500 m in the OTC/Julian’s meet was closed in approximately the same time as the Bowermans men’s 5 km. The 400 m last lap was 52 point compared to 55 point. Both distances final laps and 200 m were world class. I fully understand that the pace leading up to the final lap had an impact on the close; however neither race was being jogged and the pace of the 5km was close to a couple of the runners personal bests and considerably faster then the personal bests of a couple of the runners in that race. So for them the pace was fast leading up to the bell. The athletes we were lucky to be able to watch race have an incredible efficiency in their stride and body movement that makes their effort look effortless.
Same holds true for the women athletes we were lucky to have been able to watch. In those events 1500 m and 5km the ladies ran incredibly fast to their and their coaches delight and to our pleasure. The BTC group of US women are perhaps the best group middle/distance runners ever assembled under one professional group for the USA
For some of these athletes, they posted personal records in their first outdoor race this year or showed great fitness and speed which is a massive positive for them, confirmation that they are on the right track (ha ha), and was fun to watch.
Long winded in my response because I am super excited for these athletes and will keep looking for positives from other people healthy efforts rather than look for negatives.
Thanks Nike athletes and coaches.
