Very odd thing to do - implore people to give up their country after being invaded by tyrants and thugs. Do you wish every country in history would have done that? Seems really weird to me.

I've been consistent.
At times over the past 17 plus months, Ukrainian forces had better success than Russian forces. That is no surprise. There was a time I believed President Z had convinced President Biden to place regular U.S. infantrymen in Ukraine. Didn't happen and won't happen.
Biden is using Ukraine. Biden is adding enough munitions in order for foolish Ukrainians to last long enough for Biden to be reelected.
Ukraine would not be the first European nation to surrender when winning is impossible.
