Doesn't matter that elections were just cancelled.
Ukraine closed down all opposition parties and all dissent (like Nazi Germany). Ukraine hasn't been democratic for years, but thanks for just now noticing, when it suits your narrative.
Ukraine is not fighting for independence. It already had independence after the Euromaidan. And it had peace too.
Ukraine is now only fighting for its ability to ethnic cleanse, using government backed Nazis, with impunity (the part that stated this war 2014 - 2022). This is what Ukraine cares about, not peace. When they had peace, they were not content.

Ukraine is getting creamed. Russia will just sit back in these defensive positions and go for body count. They have that luxury with total air superiority. I'd hate to be a Ukrainian being ordered to approach Russia's lines, knowing this is it and it was a good life. Terrifying walking to your death.
