Following in that vein (of CCW's 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain'), and from that year -
Iron Maiden. If you think Iron Maiden is bad you need therapy

I don't like Iron Maiden. Can you recommend a song? A favourite?
you ain't got nothing yet by the blue magoos:
Well, I dreamed I saw the knights in armor coming
Sayin' something about a queen
There were peasants singin' and drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree
There was a fanfare blowin' to the sun
That was floating on the breeze
Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventies
Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventies
I was lyin' in a burned-out basement
With a full moon in my eyes
I was hopin' for replacement
When the sun burst through the sky
There was a band playin' in my head
And I felt like getting high
I was thinkin' about what a friend had said
I was hopin' it was a lie
Thinkin' about what a friend had said
I was hopin' it was a lie
Well, I dreamed I saw the silver spaceships lying
In the yellow haze of the sun
There were children crying and colors flying
All around the chosen ones
All in a dream, all in a dream
The loading had begun
Flyin' mother nature's silver seed
To a new home in the sun
Flyin' mother nature's silver seed
To a new home
Now that's what I'm talkin' about.
Sums up how I'm feeling about a lot of things lately.
A classic song, never grows old.
In the early 1970's, Joni Mitchell ended a relationship with Graham Nash and flew to the Greek Island of Crete, where she met Carey Raditz, cook at a local café. He gave this song it's namesake:
Raditz was red-headed and a few rough edges around his personality. But, Mitchell bonded with him, likely because he was an American and he was the most normal person she met on an island that contained actual cave-dwelling hippies. The line, "Your a mean old daddy, but I like you." neatly sums up Mitchell's dilemma: she doesn't fit in and wants to flee, but finds herself drawn to someone who she can enjoy life with.
There's a lot going on here. The song was written and performed for the dulcimer, which makes it really odd, and perhaps emchanting.
