Top 5 MBA, Can't Get A Job

Had my final round today... I don't think I did well.. expecting a reject... I’m not clearing the trust (believable) smell test :(. Help!

How do you demonstrate your leadership potential or give off the vibe that you are a leader during interviews. It was suggested that the roles I'm going for is looking for this and I'm not giving off the right vibes. I am confident but in a easygoing way... so I don't think it's confidence.

Highlight any experience you had while teaching in TFA or even in school (undergrad/grad) where you led a group or had some type of authority. If you have any analytics/statistical knowledge or skills highlight those as well. For most companies, having some ability to make data driven decisions is key. So go back into your schooling/toolset and highlight those. I might even consider getting a certificate to go along with your MBA in MGT in that area. Those in charge might not do the analysis, but you should be able to lead studies and use data/information to make better decisions. Many of the people I know who do consulting actually started out in more technical roles and after years of doing that and managing small groups moved into MGT and consulting roles. It is better to have analytical/statistical/mathematical skills I think as a precursor.

Same situation here......top MBA who graduated this year. Did some tech consulting work before. Had to go back to Asia for family issues after grad for a few months. Back in east coast now and cant secure a job offer....

have you considered going back to Asia?

I mean not trying to be a D or anything but i'm not quite sure why people who have opprotunities in their home country leave and then expect to have the same opprotunities as a guest that the home residents have.

Like, you have family in asia and have an american education that can help you succeed back home.

Sincerley asking, why did you leave your home country and come to America? I've never understood this as Europeans and Americans rarely migrate unless facing extreme danger. Almost no Europeans ever come to America even though many of them could have a much bigger house, and nicer car here. As they are not facing danger and they are loyal to their family and traditions.

People in Europe only came to America and Australia in droves when widespread famine, warfare, and religious persecution was rampant in Europe.

Don't be a xenophobe. U.S. welcomes and needs to continue to welcome educated foreigners. Educated foreigners are far more likely to be entrepreneurs than U.S. born individuals. Many foreigners attended U.S. colleges & universities get no financial aid. That often means they have wealthy families paying 100% tuition. U.S. needs wealthy foreigners to invest in U.S. A nation's economy grows due to exports and also due to infusion of foreign money.
