LOTS of things fall under these two categories not just conversion therapy. You are wrong. There are institutions that involve safe sex and abstinence. Perhaps you don't know what "institution" means.

It was violent 2600 years ago when it was written but not more violent than any group in its time. However Im not worried that Im going to be killed for being a heathen, or a non believing Jew. I might not agree with some of the fundamentalist Jews but I'm not worried that they're going to kill me when I drive to synagogue on Friday night. The Talmud interpreted these verses 2000 years ago and Jews continue to do so today. Nobody for the last 2 centuries takes these verses literal.

Can you tell us when was the last time someone was stoned in response to Leviticus vs. when was the last time someone was beheaded or set ablaze in the name of islam, which was probably last week.

It is relevant because you can't seem to wrap your head around the fact that these ancient world religions aren't necessarily beholden to the very letter of their archaic texts. So while there's plenty of brutality in the Qur'an and there are some crazy people out there making Bronze Age violence in the world, this is not representative of the religion as a whole.
