As has been said already: a coach is right to protest. When that protest is denied she can appeal. But when that appeal is denied, there is nothing in the rules that allows one to change that outcome again.

that was nothing in terms of contact and Jordan knew it, hence her withdrawal. you guys must not watch track races very often. that was like a rub at best.

THIS! ^^^ That was nothing is right. Put it in slow motion or any way you want, that was so weak that it doesn't have to be called unintentional. What in God's name are you guys looking at because that video of the race did not warrant a DQ to even be brought up.

I believed at the time, and still believe, that Alberto didn't think Jordan was impeded or that Gabe did anything wrong, but at the same time he was going to get her DQ'd if he could to get his athlete on the team. I believe this is who he is- he'll do anything within the realm of what is legal to give his athletes an edge even if it isn't in the spirit of fair competition. Gabe deserved to be on that team for her performance regardless of her path to get there (including overcoming cancer) but that aspect of it only further highlighted the type of person Alberto is.
By the way, it made my day to rewatch the video. So wonderful to see her keep pressing and seize the opportunity.

Just curious about the bylaws referenced by big dog. I immediately thought of Nick Symmonds and him getting kicked off the 2015 Worlds team because he wouldn't sign the thing about only wearing USATF Nike gear at "official Team USA functions" even though those functions were not really defined. By the way, I had to sign a similar document to get my gear and compete in the Worlds (Masters) in Malaga last year.
Did Nick attempt to use the USOC bylaws referenced? Is "the corporation" that they are referring to USOC or USATF or Nike or someone else? Or did the bylaws not apply in this case since Nick was not an amateur athlete? Section 9.1 specifies "amateur" athlete.
Grunewald was by far the class of the field in that 2014 indoor national championship 3k in Albuquerque.
She just destroyed Hasay and Rowbury in the last lap. She was a bull in the china shop but it didn't matter and wouldn't have changed the outcome if she hadn't touched them. Incidentally, the biggest contact Hasay faced in the whole race was relatively early on when she bounced off the 2nd place runner at the time.
You Gabe supporters are idiots.
She was obviously blatantly fouling Hasay all the way through this particular race, which
can be seen very clearly in the video regardless of what you say, and she had a long history
of doing the same thing to others.
Removing 99 percent of the posts from this thread that point this out does not change the truth.
