Yes you do. Official results with Garcia dq’d but not Hull.
No, you don't.
Hull is protected, especially as a medalist in the race. No chance of the golden girl losing silver for a DQ that is borderline to fans. (Even if it's clear to people with knowledge.)
If Hailu did the same to Hull, she would be DQed.
Right, so the officials, commentators, and all the posters on here who watched the race are wrong, but you alone are right because of some conspiracy in track to protect Hull? Please share your evidence.
Hockers tactics are exemplified even more indoor. Seems like he just doesn't care what's going on positioning wise until the bell, then just hopes his close is enough. He definitely should have one that. Same exact mistake he made in us 1500. Would have let the Ethiopians go if nuguse didn't go by him and reel them in.
Beamish was never in it. Nuguse either went too early or just lost his momentum completely after being jostled. I love Kara Goucher unlike most people on here, but maybe she will finally acknowledge Hockers tactics aren’t great. He has gotten lucky with the inside rail one too many times, but his tactics lately have been bad. Not a Kerr fan but it’s nice to see Hocker humbled tbh
I'm calling Kerr FTW. Suspecting Hocker gets into a bad position again. Though rooting for Nuguse/Beamish.
Called it. Hocker needs to drop his strategy of leading at a decent pace, letting people pass him, and getting shuffled back into a bad position on the inside. It's exactly what he's done in so many races, and he clearly can't rely on the rail opening up. He's fit enough that he can afford to run a little extra distance staying on the outside of lane. That's what Kerr did today.
Yep.
And why he ended up getting DQd at the World Champs.
If he’s going to insist on running the rail he should just run it like Ingebritsen and trust himself to simply be the fastest in the field.
Congrats to Kerr, very well raced but let’s be fair, if Ingebrit was there he’d have obliterated the lot of them and the times would have been a lot quicker
get well soon Jacob. Races are much duller without you
Pretty mediocre race after all the hype, I agree.
Hope these guys are enjoying their Jakob-free season. Because watching such a slow win will drive Jakob crazy and he'll be coming for a sub-12:30 5000 soon enough.
Hocker is too obsessed with sticking on the rail and trying to save as much energy as possible for his kick. With 400m to go you shouldn’t be thinking like that, ESPECIALLY on a 200m indoor track.
Great from Kerr! Sorry I know you all hate him. But he laced that to perfection and raced well.
There’s no doubting he’s the best tactician in the world and it’s not close. Wightman probably no. 2 incidentally. Hocker has a better kick, gear shift and maximum speed, but if he allows a gap that’s neutralized.

Has Jakob ever won a 3,000m championship race in faster than 7:35? Nope, not even under 7:40.
Kerr is simply the best tactical middle distance runner on the circuit. Some might be stronger, others might be faster over 150m, but I back Kerr to execute a race more than anyone else. There's a reason that he's left 5 of the last 7 global champs with a medal, three gold. No one fulfils their potential and fitness as often as Kerr.
now we get to listen to Kerr for another couple years...
I hear you . Although I think he thrives on negatives . notice the sleeping action to knock Hockers celebration from Milrose . It's like he runs on hate . but hey I guess it works .
Pretty much confirms that Hocker should never have won the OLY title. This is how that final should have played out, if Jakob had not rolled out the red carpet for him. Cole is the most talented, no doubt, but don't think I have ever seen a more consistently bad tactician.
