A combination of Redwood forests, meadows, wildflowers and views of the Pacific Ocean, the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz, Angel Island, the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. On foggy mornings, even though you're robbed of the views, if you run high enough on the summit the tops of the mountains rise through the fog as if they were islands and the fog the sea. I haven't run there in almost thirty years, but I still remember it.
I've traveled a lot for work... I can't think of a better spot based on 48 states and 9 other countries.
