If you have any information to support that he did in fact die from running, and not from inadequate or harmful treatment in the hospital, then you are welcome to provide it.
I do not know the details of this tragic event, but his death could have resulted from multiorgan system failure caused by the heat stroke/dehydration. In severe and untreated forms of heat stroke (and my understanding was that he was not found for over 4 hours)---the organs basically shut down. I won't bore you with the scientific process (muscle breakdown resulting in renal and pulmonary failure, etc.), but the end result is death. When one organ fails, the mortality is quite significant (my bet is that at a minimum, he likely had kidney failure);and with any subsequent organ failure (acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute liver failure) resulting from severe heat stroke and dehydration, the mortality goes up exponentially. The fact that he died four days after the event does NOT mean it was not the result of heat stroke. Once the organs fail, the vast majority of people pass away---no treatment is available. I stress that I do NOT know the details of the event, but I will say that dying four days after being found is consistent with heat stroke.

Perhaps I'm missing your point, but if you're saying the kid died from "inadequate or harmful treatment in the hospital," then I didn't miss your point and you are an idiot. Heat stroke is the reported cause of death, and it certainly is not beyond the realm of possibility to survive four days before dying of heat stroke. I'm assuming he was in some sort of coma the whole time and never regained consciousness after the episode.
But with a given cause of death of heat stroke, or exertional heat stroke, you should just leave it at that and not try to imply the medical care was anything less than it should have been.
Heat is nothing to take lightly. I've had my own episode of heat exhaustion and was lucky that's all it was. I feel sorry for this kid and have nothing but the most sincere condolences for his family and friends.
Kelly got to the hospital and it is reported they gave him no chance at living off the bat, such a tragedy.
