I may have read somewhere that the AOC has signed a multi-year deal with Asics to provide for Tokyo & beyond (happy to be corrected on this). BLK I think have sponsored prior World Champs or major events, but yeah, they're not too flash in 2019. You'd think all the major bodies would be on the same page (AA, AOC, Com Games Foundation etc etc) but clearly not.
Terrible, look at the waist band on those shorts the distance runners are wearing? straight 3 inch wide elastic from the 80's. It's like a track uniform out of Stranger Things.

It doesn't look especially bad to me.
Only thing I see wrong with the uni's is that the U of AUS is offset so low that it's hard to avoid covering it with numbers.

Name one Aussie uniform that has actually had the colour of gold in it.
Most of our classic 'Green and gold' uniforms have been green and yellow.
The Kangaroos and green with gold and Wallabies playing jerseys are usually gold with green. It's not shiny if that's what you're getting at, but it's got more orange in it than what most would call yellow.
Those uniforms are absolutely hideous. They remind me of the uniforms I would make as a joke in video games when I was trying to make them as ugly as possible. These might be the 2nd worst uniforms I have ever seen in track and field. Number one still goes to the Santa Monica Track Club uniforms from the 1991 Penn Relays that made black athletes look like they were running naked:

Australian uniform was Asics or Adidas for a long time. Things must be going badly wrong to have to wear this stuff.
Inspired by Aussie bogans in trackie dacks and a flanno down at the Centerlink.
It’s a great uniform to run in to get eliminated in the first round. Seems to be working just fine so far.
Needs pairing with white zinc cream across the nose and bottom lip, plus badly died bleach blond hair, a la peak Shane Warne.
Followed by a rousing rendition of Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi and burnt steak on the barbie.
Aside from the second rate design, they just look poorly made. Don’t sit well on the athletes.
