So my sister in law lives in a not so good school district and used her fathers place of business address on the charter school application, which is also in the same town as she lives but in a much better school district. For this reason she got a good spot on the lottery list and was accepted.
We were in the same situation a couple years ago but did everything by the book and were so far down on the lottery list that there no way we were getting in. No problem because we planned to move to a better district and we did right before our son started kindergarten.
My SIL just bought a house in the same town we currently live in but has decided to keep her kids in the charter school which goes up to 6th grade.
Her family obviously knows about this and was warned that this was illegal. Nobody has said anything.
I feel that this is wrong as she essentially stole 2 spots from other families kids (she has twins). I’m conflicted as to whether I should say something to the school or not. My SIL is one of those people who often cuts corners to try and get ahead in many aspects of her life.
Should I just let it go or say something?
