if by 'team' you mean women, no.
sorry buttercup, they are here to stay. Better get used to it.

Wejo sounds pathetic praising this narcissist who did her best to be hateful and divisive. Made me root for the team to lose.
If you back Trump you have ZERO grounds for complaining about narcissism and divisiveness. None.
Hey people, stop being spiteful, her speech was good and inspires make love!
WTF is the most best?

It's not a "best speech" or even a good one. It' s vulgar.
July 4th was the hundred year anniversary of the best speech in New York.
https://www.mlb.com/video/lou-gehrigs-farewell-speech/c-33805901939 plus 100 years equals 2019? It was a great speech, though. The echoes made it even better. Gehrig and Ruth didn't talk to eachother for about 15 years, but the Babe was there and gave him a big hug.
I was channeling my inner Yogi Berra.

If she doesn't come to the WH now she's a hypocrite.
How fitting on LRC that the first reply is a troll claiming hypocrisy whose moniker is TrumpForever - all in response to someone calling for unity.
She would be a hypocrite for not following her own words. That's hardly trolling. She can model her words and go to the WH or reject the invitation and continue the divide she claims she's against.
This thread cracks me up. How in the world does she elicit such strong feelings from all of you? Did she steal your high school girlfriend from you or something?
She is a world class athlete who is constantly in the spotlight. Of course she is going to "talk a lot", whatever that means. She owes nothing to Trump. That doesn't make her a hypocrite. Wake up if you haven't been paying attention to what Trump has been doing. His coalition is white men and Republicans who feel like they have to vote for the nominee no matter what. He has a long history of racist (housing discrimination, central park 5, birtherism, countless comments he has made). He has a long history of sexism -- grabbing women by the you know what. Not to mention is it good that the sitting President faces a ton of sexual harassment charges (I think we're up to 24)? & sure keep coming back with how everyone is out to get him & just ignore all of his terrible behavior. Rapinoe is talking about a world where we just move past that this ever happened. That Americans got together & elected someone like this. In the face of all of that, we're going to start doing better. That doesn't mean visiting the White House.

This is meaningless claptrap from someone who has no intention of stopping promoting division.
'Do better' just means agree with me and conform to what I want.
If she actually changes her behavior then fine but I don't see it happening.
I guarantee you are in your teens or early twenties.
Wait until you look back at this sort of attitude and cringe.
I love Rapinoe (platonically). In some ways she’s a flawed figure, but she’s very upfront & believeable & talented. People have no idea how held back she typically would have been: for being gay or being a woman or being a strong person. Many are broken, but she survived & triumphed.
This is a great country but we have an obligation to share & give back & believe in the individual. We have enemies, and if we can’t be a positive force because it’s the right thing to do, we should help others for our own survival.

This beast doesn't speak for women. It speaks for the entity that wants to destroy our nation and other nations.
This beast plays a little boys game that involves a lot of little boy testosterone... Or supposed to involve a lot of little boy testosterone. Why would a real woman stoop so low?

I absolutely loved the last 2 minutes of her speech today. Even more impressive it might have been off the cuff.
I feel like the message is what we need to here in this hyper partisan time.
The US soccer team motto is "One Nation, One Team" yet the team may or may not get invited to the White House and may or may not go to the White House if invited. The speech was way more inclusive than any of that rhetoric, but judging from the comments on twitter it may not make much a difference. I still loved it and find it hard to argue with what she said.
Video clip of it first, then I typed of her words and even published as an article.
https://twitter.com/CBSNews/status/1148984174801555456?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw“I think I’ll just end with this. This is my charge to everyone. We have to be better. We have to love more, hate less. We got to listen more, and talk less. We got to know this is everybody’s responsibility, every single person here. Every single person who is not here. Every single person who doesn’t want to be here. Every single person who agrees and doesn’t agree. It is our responsibility to make this world a better place. I think this team does an incredible job of taking that on our shoulders and understanding the position that we have and the platform we have within this world.
Yes we play sports. Yes we play soccer. Yes we’re female athletes but we’re so much more than that. You’re so much more than that. You’re more than a fan. You’re more than someone who just supports sport. You’re more than someone who tunes in every four years. You’re someone who walks these streets every single day. You interact with your community every single day. How do you make your community better? How do you make the people around you better? Your family? Your closest friends? The 10 closest people to you? The 20 closest people to you? The most 100 closest people to you? It’s every single person’s responsibility.
There’s been so much contention in these last years. I’ve been a victim of that. I’ve been a perpetrator of that.
With the fight with the federation, (I’m) sorry for some of the things I said, not all of the things.
But it’s time to come together. This conversation is at the next step. We have to collaborate. It’s takes everybody. This is my charge to everybody, ‘Do what you can. Do what you have to do. Step outside of yourself. Be more. Be better. Be bigger than you’ve ever been before. If this team is any representation of what you can be, when you do that please take this as an example. This group is incredible. We took so much on our shoulders to be here today, to celebrate with you today. And we did it with a smile. So do the same for us. Please, I ask you.
New York City, you’re the mother fucking best.

It's amazing to me how this speech elicited so much hate and anger from posters. But I guess if you love Trump ( which I don't understand either) and she attacked him before so it kind of makes sense.
But it was a great message that she didn't have to make. She could have used her forum to further attack trump. It was her crowd and they would have loved anything she said. But instead she gave a speech of peace and unity. We all know if Trump was with his crowd cheering him on he would never have done the same. Trumpsters you know this is true. Even trump supporters should appreciate what Megan said and what she didn't say.
Her choice not to go for the photo op at the white house does not detract from her message.
I like the same people that say she is not american for kneeling (never actually listening to what she had to say before or after when she knelt), seem to not care that Trump dodged the draft - considered completely unamerican. I'm not really invested in either party so I just find it interesting you can forgive one person but be so angry at the other.
As for whether Trump is against gays. I believe he doesn't care, but all of his policies are based on making his base happy. And a majority of his base believe that gays should have less rights, so he tends to go that way.
Are you guys more afraid of Alexandira Ocasio-Cortez or Megan Rapinoe? It's a little difficult to tell. Some of the posts here seem way more vitriolic than in the AOC threads. Maybe it's because at Rapinoe is a lesbian that you are even more scared of her.

What policy has trump implemented that is anti-gay?
The biggest complaint I hear is not allowing transgenders in the military until a year after they have full transitioned. We reject people from the military for a whole bunch of reasons, including flat feet, poor eyesight, being too fat. The goal is to have the most deadly force in the world, not the most inclusive force in the world.
Who cares? She's obviously doped to the gills.
Trumps the best thing that ever happened to Rapinhoe
Extends her 15 minutes of fame and increases her clicks and likes.
Everyone associated with Trump WINS, that’s why they can’t keep his name out they mouth.
