Motocross.
Those dudes are in insane shape. They mostly cycle for training but some run.
Fencing is quite masterful. Requires training for agility, explosiveness, endurance and the technical side is deep as well. It’s like a complicated chess game at the highest levels.

I second basketball. Incredible atheletism and tons of conditioning and technical expertise/practice required.
Many current and former football players played basketball at sometime during their youth. Football players, for the most part are frustrated basketball players who could not make it. There are football kickers who were former futbol players also.
Cheerleading. Their season lasts from August to March or April.
Mountain biking. I tried a few races when I was superfit racing triathlons regularly, and they were the hardest events I've ever done. By far. You need incredible endurance, muscle strength, power for explosive bursts, insane technical skills, an ability to deal with risk of serious injury and incredible concentration. There is literally no let up, no coasting, you are out there for 2 -4 hours and with Enduros, its even longer.
Even just getting to the start line with your bike set up correctly is a major achievement.
Competitive eating.
The hot dog record is 74 in 10 min.
Try that hobby joggers, no puking allowed.
Chess, it takes intense sustained concentration and effort. It's actually physically demanding.
Like running, it's very competitive and those not willing to sacrifice (no pun intended) don't win.

For sports that anybody can participate in, this is the correct answer.
The greatest collection of athletes are likely pro basketball players though.
Wrestlers get my respect for their training

Australian Rules Football for the same reasons. Incredible leaps. And a lot going on on the field to keep aware of.

Haha. Just try me. People puke after seeing me eat. I've eaten a whole large supreme pizza in under 60 seconds.
I am surprised no one has said Baseball yet. It takes great hand eye coordination and years of practice to make it to the highest level. Basketball also takes skill and practice, but a think a lot of success comes from size.
You don't see a lot of teenage major leaguers and baseball, more than any sport, has high draft picks that never make it. (I think Ken Griffey Jr. was the first number one pick to ever make the Hall of Fame.)
I don't think I would have made running my sport in junior high if I thought I was good enough to make my school's baseball team.
