So, so very true.

over training?
hasnt he run pretty close to that in a steeple before?
I think the wind was pretty hard on them, good for sprints though. Willis just behind sub-13 guys, that was a very good race. John Walker was at the arena today, his record lives on. Willis can run 7.35 in better conditions, just like Bekele can run 7.23.
I sure didn't see 7:45 coming, when he ran 7:47 indoors after his injury.

Another 'conditions are bad' issue.
It was about 65F with 5mph winds when Willis raced (see link). I bet we don't go through a single race this outdoor season without blaming the conditions for a faster time. We've done it every race so far.

you walked into that one man, good luck.

Yea, I watched the race.

Well, ttc, will we make through a race this season where you are someone else doesn't "blame" a GREAT time on drug use????? So you are just doing the same thing(making up "excuses" of a sort) in the OPPOSITE direction. Except one can point to verifiable weather facts such as wind and temp while you will only have rumor, innuendo, and bias to point to when you accuse top performances/performers of being drug-fueled.
(ttc from an another thread on Bekele-
BEKELE RUNS 12:40
ttc wrote:
Wow he took drugs. No, there's no proof just like there's no proof on Marion Jones either. The drugs will get better and some day they'll run 12:15 for a 5K.
Even better - will we make it through a thread that ttc doesn't add his worthless info to?
12.40 isn't equal to 7.34. Im not saying that Bekele was in 12.40-shape today, but he must have been in better than 12.58 shape. Kennedy did 7.30......so it shouldn't be that hard for him, and he did go all out today. And several of the other sub-13 guys ran similar to Ritz 7.42, doesn't seem right....eh?
Well you can say he was in 12:40 shape b/c he ran 12:40 3 days ago.

Okey, btw Bekele's recovery is superb, remember those world xc doubles, so you are right he is in 12.40-shape.
The pacing was very good today, still he ran 7.32 last friday without kickin.

Verfified 60's F with very low, single digit winds all day. I posted this earlier in the thread.
http://www.weather.com/activities/travel/businesstraveler/weather/fcst-hrly.html?locid=SZXX0017&from=36hr_topnav_businesslets look at this from a positive side. Both Willis and Bekele have raced well in the last few days, so I think its abit unfair to come out and say "Willis is only a 7:45 3k runner" or "Bekele is only a 7:34 3k runner" Because both athletes can run alot better than that (illustrated by the fact Bekele did 7:32 en route last weekend, Willis will go faster aswell).
Both could be abit tired, prehaps not the best race/conditions or whatever either, but neither have to run amazing yet as they are both preparing for the worlds in Helsinki where im sure they will both be in much better form.
did KB just run with his brother until late in the race? Maybe he was only trying to pull Tariku along...
just a thought
and how far do you think the gap would have been if Bekele hadn't jogged most of it?

Um, if you didn't notice, he was only 11 seconds behind Bekele. That's right, Kenenisa Bekele. Bekele's run 12:37, so extrapolated out at 3.5 seconds per 1000m, Willis should run like 12:53 this year, beating Webb in the 1500m en route. Duh.

It didn't seem to me that Bekele was jogging or dogging it. He seemed to give it a good go, but to be fair, looked like a guy who'd run 12:40 only days earlier.
