How can we even have a conversation about the prevalence of fake hate crimes if we don't actually have any data on the prevalence of fake hate crimes, though?

It's harmful for people to believe there's an epidemic of white supremacists roaming the streets of Chicago ready to attack them. In some cases like the Ferguson hoax there's violent retaliation.

I generally don't believe any hate crime report unless there are witnesses. Fake ones are just too common to let us take reports on their face.

Do they make me look bad? What kind of question is that.

As I mentioned earlier, they do serious damage to race relations. It perpetuates the narrative that a large amount of white people are actively out there committing serious hate crimes, which really isn't the case. You would be foolish if you don't think these hoaxes don't influence the average citizen into believing white people are evil.

It starts with this:

There should be no thing as a "hate crime" in America. All crimes are hateful against the person affected. A crime committed by a black person against another black person should be treated the same way as if the crime was committed against a white person. Same thing in reverse, a crime by a white person against a white person should be considered the same as against a black person.

You know the term "hate crime" is extremely flawed when certain groups can be victims of crime and it NEVER be considered a "hate crime" (i.e. any crime against a straight white male) while other groups of people can have EVERY type of crime against them considered a "hate crime" (i.e. a gay minority).

Media and society at large pushing people into their little groups and then pitting them against each other is their way of distracting us all while they take away more of our freedoms through Federal Govt overreach (i.e. the radical Democrat party and some of the RINOs as well).
