Where the heck is Centro and why isn't he racing Timothy Cheruiyot in Berlin on Sunday?

The Kenyans are competing with the world's best no matter where they go, as long as more than one of them is there.

Nobody is competing with the world's best at 5th avenue mile. It's a joke media stunt event, not a serious athletic competition, and the world's best avoid it.

All Centrowitz really has on his resume is the few semi-fast times he was towed to in Europe. He should be trying to go even faster but I guess he feels his career is done or something.

Centro, in all likelihood, is past the ability to PR. While not old, he's not a spring chicken anymore. Most elites have their PR by age 25. Very few PR after that.

Centro is doping up some more so he can be competitive

Over his career, Centro has excelled in Championship races. This is the down year between the 3-years championship cycle. Matt has another cycle in him as a 1500 runner. Why should he change his stripes and go for broke this year?

It's like Mo in 2014, sort of took a rest from killing it on the track (OK, he tried London that year).

Expect Centro to smell out some medals in the next 3-year cycle.

The only caveat, some athletes taste gold, then step aside. Herb Elliot. But I expect Centro will be motivated to continue doing what he does best: Collect 1500 medals on the world stage!

The Kenyans are not in Berlin to compete with each other. They can and have competed with each other a lot this season. They are there to make one last seasonal payday, whether there are other Kenyans there or no real competition.
