I have never dropped out of a race. BUT I am a real man and real men don't QUIT. You are a quitter and should be shunned by your school as well as the entire running community. It doesn't look like you are cut out for the demands of the sport of running. Have you thought about joining a competitive dance team? That may fit better with your athletic demeanor.

In almost 40 years of running, I have dropped out of one race. Ran off the track during a 5K in college, barfed, then passed out. Found out the next day I had mono. There have been times since then when I've endured the shame of walking during a race, but I've never quit (oh, sorry, "dropped out").

Given my own excuse for the one and only time I quit a race, I felt compelled to be fair and follow up with advice to get yourself checked out medically. If you're sick, you're sick. But if you quit just because you were having a bad day then I revert to my previous advice.
Dang this got a lot of responses. And to all the people saying so, I did not quit because I was having a bad day. I quit because my body wasn’t responding in the right ways and I knew something was off in my legs. It’s been two days no running and my legs still feel fatigued and I don’t know what to do.
