Running fast is critical for this particular woman. A man needs to run very fast...away from her, far away.

Well we all chose the wrong sport if our intentions are to use it to attract girls. Girls don’t care how fast you are, however winning/status is attractive. If you’re in high school and win state or something you’ll probably gain a little bit of fame in your school (not much). Same for conference in college. So unless you’re winning big championship races, it probably won’t help you at all with the ladies. And even if you are it will help only a minuscule amount.

Status matters. Being seen as capable in competition matters. All else equal, winning at anything is better than losing.
Back in my day we called this "speed goggles". Dunno if anyone else heard that term...

Very often, winning a championship race requires a good finishing kick.... so what you are saying is girls dig a good kick, at least somewhat.

I think golf is a great example of this. All these golfers at the big tournaments seem to have some supermodel or bikini model on their arms. Yet a great deal of these guys are unathletic doughboys . I know that golf requires a great deal of practice and talent, but not exactly tip-top shape athletes. You know why? Money, status, winning.
But I'm sure they all have great personalities.

Whenever I go with my wife to some big family get together for my kids' school, sports or whatever, she always notices that I am just about the only dad that isn't fat. Maybe one day women will come to understand that falling for the big football player is a bad long term investment as the odds are almost certain that they will end up with a 360 lb tub of lard with sleep apnea and high blood pressure.

Much like beer goggles, speed goggles can give someone as much as a 1 point boost on the 10 scale. Status is attractive. It isn't so much about running fast as winning races or being the best of your peers though. The main problem is that running isn't a high status activity, so the girl usually has to value running on some level for it to help at all.
