I never said it did make you slow, simply that during your base period you don't HAVE to limit youself to LSD; you can workout and be in a base phase at the same time.

I find that people always imagine training as one type or another: it's either straight LSD or you're on the track blasting intervals.
There's nothing wrong with having 3 hard days/week -- it just depends what systems and to what degree they are being hit.
Fifty weeks a year I have three quality or atleast two and one semi-quality days a week and I'm a total mileage guy. It's just a matter of hitting the right system the right amount and knowing when to take it easy.
kind of make one sound like an idiot when the well accomplished runner they talk dirt about comes back and actually posts with correct information. just goes to show the arrogance of some posters to misinform those around. Cicero said, when the facts dont support your argument, go ahead and lie. I didnt think in this case people were untrustworthy its just that some should look things up before running off their mouths and have the moral responsiblity to be honest.
