It was the Big 10 Championships, it was the bell lap (of an indoor race!), she was fully laid out on the track, Fawn Door steps on her head and with only 200 meters to go, she gets up and wins the race. I agree it's relative. And as it relates to Korir's stumble, it's 'relatively' miraculous!

I certainly didn't mean to short shrift Mike (or Rosie Ruiz for that matter), but just gave one example of where the superlative 'miraculous' might apply. And it sure wouldn't be Korir's race. I just went back on Youtube to watch Heather's race again & it's as absolutely incredible on what must be my 10th viewing as it was on the first. There must be hundreds of Youtube videos of this one comeback race in every language imaginable. Some of them have millions of views while one of them has over 18 million views. Fast forward 5 years or so and will Korir's 800 victory video be in such heavy rotation?

Lasse Viren's olympic record setting 10k after a fall was in this vein. Hate seeing runners fall and lie there like Morgan Uceny. Get up. GTF up and finish the race.
