Men's 800: Anyone think with Korir out that Brazier's chances for gold just went way up but so did his odds for no medal?

Are you kidding? Brazier “Nowhere near” a measly 3:40 1500m? He ran a 3:59 low indoor mile this year with a 54ish last 400m. He could run 3:39 at absolute worst. Probably more like 3:37-38. And in any case, 3:38-40 is not very good for a pro, even an 800m runner. These guys are small potatoes.

Did you miss the part where he closed in 54.x? I think the last 200 was 26.x, too. That’s worth at least 3 seconds right there. In a paced race outdoors on the right day, 3:37 is reasonable.
