There is overlap, of course. Last team to qualify for section finals in Southern Section might still place top 15 at state.

My ratings were based on WA State where nearly 1/4 of teams qualify for State. That being said, it is probably more fair to put "Worst team at State" as a 7.

2. Nah; team cohesiveness was great.

3. Girls 10+ (top state, NXN caliber etc), guys 6/7 (usually fell short of state meet, but would've been extremely competitive in any other state)

Interestingly one of the teams across town was flipped; teams were not coed, girls were good but not NXN caliber, guys were one of the top teams in the country this past year.

1. Completely separate

2. No, but I would have preferred some sort of regular interaction. We basically never interacted with them except by chance (I had friends on the team who I saw outside of school way more often than through running).

3. 5, top of our league but rarely qualified for state (in a huge state).

I ran in the 1970s so there was no girls cc team.

We had an outstanding group of freshman boys when I was in that class in my first year in the sport.

I was like the 7th best runner in that group. By the time I was a senior I was the second best runner because we lost so many of those kids. Having a girls team might have helped keeping some out for the sport and we certainly would have contended for the state title.

Yes I would have changed it.

1- Coed, but we would obviously do workouts and long runs separately

2- Yes, the girl's team is cancer

3- boys 10, 4-year streak right now, girls are 9, they won 9 years then have gotten 2nd or 3rd the last couple years
