Where is the best place to train in America during the winter?

Zion, Utah is just lovely. It's a little remote but the trails are gorgeous and the weather is incredible. It's also dirt cheap and close to a major road racing scene (Utah road racing is ON FIRE).

Minneapolis! ? The winter running will really toughen you up so that come spring you'll be in "seventh heaven" with no such thing as a bad run.

I just got in an amazing hilly run in Gretna, LA. The weather was very good! (63 degrees, partly cloudy, AND NO WIND!)

Portland, OR. And, no, it doesn't rain ad much as people think. When it does rain, it's just a drizzle. Temps are perfect for running.

Wrong. So wrong. NE sucks for winter running. There is about 1-2 months of decent running weather. Otherwise you are subjected to run in snow, ice, awful wind, no sunshine, etc.

It looks nice, but do poisonous snakes live along those trails?

Klamath CA

Year round average monthly highs between 54 and 68. And year round average lows between 38 and 52. Any day of the year you can run in 50 degrees (ideal running weather). Not to mention Redwood National and State parks for trails...

Pretty much anywhere along the CA coast from San Fran to the Oregon line has amazing running temps year round.

San Clemente, CA look it up best place to train year round, driving distance from Big Bear if you "need" some altitude.

South Phoenix near the mountain. There are the trails and road at South Mountain and there is Rio Salado and the canal just a few blocks north for soft surface and flat stuff.

Whatever is waiting for you to trample beyond your front porch. True champions make it happen anywhere. They don't need some fancy winter destination.
