Bolt's an idiot. Yes conditions. But could have answered that it is not an Olympic year and that he's been partying a lot and his concentration was not on training.

Who was the reporter? Anyone know? Her accent sounded Norwegian, possibly Danish.

Paul Kimmage.
The respondent was Lance Armstrong with an infectious personality.

No, it was clearly a woman who asked the question that set Bolt off to saying What?
and she reiterated her stance and then Bolt says his deal.
The LR start of this thread also says it's a woman.
I'm not interested in your Kimmage/Lance analogies, I just really want to know who that reporter is.
It may be someone I know....

So what you're saying is that the issue of doping should never be brought up either to Usain Bolt or regarding Usain Bolt?
That 's right. Only dopers talk about drugs.

Bolt is correct. Reporter clueless.
Brojos completely clueless.
The point was times have stunk all season.
A lot of injuries are occurring also. One reason for this is there is a big push to get under 9.90. DeGrasse injured himself right before the championships - obviously pushing too hard that late to try to beat Bolt. I also think that there are a lot more clean athletes, but I beleive Bolt is one of them. Gatlin maybe clean now but hasn't been in past. Isn't it ironic that he finally wins when he become clean. He was just injured and is getting old.
Human evolution. It is something were natural forces cause humans to physically change and the next generation is stronger than the last.
There are no natural forces causing humans to evolve anymore.
Humans have only ever been able to run 9.9 seconds. Anyone running
Love Gatlin taking a shot at the media. He's right they are out there training while the media is coming up with stories to discredit them.

Usain Bolt press conferences are always worth going to. Usually he's in a jovial, celebratory mood, but even tonight with a 3rd place finish, he could make people laugh as he took offense at a reporter's question.
That occurred tonight when a journalist asked the medallists if they thought the slower sprint times at this year’s Worlds were because of stronger anti-doping controls and Usain Bolt took offense.  The journalist pointed out that this was the slowest 100m winning time since 2003, and "the marks in general were much slower than the last edition of the world championships and I'd like to know from you guys if you think there is any kind of relationship (with the slower times) from a stronger anti doping control.â€
Bolt interjected, "Wo, Wo, Woa what? What's she saying?â€
The journalists started to talk again and Bolt said, "I heard  you but what?"
She then explained there were 21 sub 10 times at the Beijing Worlds and less than 10 here. As she was explaining herself, Bolt signalled to the other two medallists that he wanted to answer the question.
He then said, “First of all I'm sure  everyone up here takes that (as) very disrespectful. You know what I mean. I, we've worked hard. Justin has done his time throughout the years and he's proven himself over and over again. I've proven myself over and over again. The young kid just coming in, Coleman, has done great. He's performed himself to show the world to show he's going to be a great athlete. There's something called injury and sometimes everything don't go (as) smoothly as you want to, there's negative wind. There's so much different things (that can affect the 100), so for you to just directly say something or state something  to all 3 of us like that I take that disrespectfully, you know what I mean? Because we've done so much great things throughout the years. Yes it's slow but we came out and we put on a good show for everybody, you now what I mean? (Pause) Wow."
Gatlin then spoke, "As athletes regardless of what the sport is we're human being still. We have to perform. We work hard. We train everyday as you all are sitting typing on your computers... Of course sometimes our times are not going to be the best.... We push ourselves to the best we can do and tonight that was the best the world could give and we still made it the most exciting race you've probably seen all year and it was so close. So I don't think it's an algorithm to an anti-doping issue."
Coleman was then asked by the moderator if he had anything to add and he deadpanned, "I think they pretty much said it all" as the room erupted in laughter.
It's worth a watch. Â Bolt can be very charming and funny and he was here, even as he took offense at the reporter's question. The clip below is set to start at the relevant point.

One thing missing from all their answers: a declaration that they are clean.
Did the reporter really expect to hear
"yes the new drug protocol has us all sh!tting in our shorts and we have had to back off on the use of illegal drugs this year. But the trigger amounts are still high enough for us to tweek our values when we need to. Actually you should ask Salazar he's the King of that kind of stuff every one follows his advice. Just don't ask Paula she gets really snitty when you do."
IMO
Truth none of the sprinter have brown shorts and none of them are backing off on the supplement programs.

The reporter is right on the money, which gets Bolt defensive. The main difference between him and Lance Armstrong is he is so likeable. Perhaps his most potent weapon in the bigger picture.
Wrong. Times sucked because people got old. Look at the people responsible for the top times:
Bolt - old
Blake - old, and just not the same after injury and surgery, despite some healing
Gatlin - old
Gay - old, and dealing with personal tragedy
Powell - old
Carter - old
Greene - retired
...and that's it -- every time below 9.80 is from just those guys. If you go into the 9.80 - 9.89 range, you see the same things (old or retired guys), with 4 exceptions: Bromell, Coleman, Vicaut, and Simbine. The last 3 of those guys were in the final, and the rounds probably took their tolls.
But while all of those guys had overlapping careers the times remained fast. Now there is a sudden gap in talent where the new young guys can't handle rounds like the "old" generation?

Since you missed this one Rossi Cheated is saying that Lance did exactly what Bolt just did when a reporter cornered him.
Letsrun seems to have missed this connection too.

Wasn't that Lance's reply? In a NIKE commercial, no less.

It seemed like a Dave Keighley response...get angry, deflect, then blame the questioner, but never ever answer the questions.
Funny how it's always disrespectful when the get an honest question they don't like.

Yup ... the response seals the deal for me.

Yes. And this "talent gap" can also be found in the other running events, despite the increasingly improving knowledge, nutrition, technology (from anti-gravity treadmills to 4% shoes). It's very hard to find a top-twenty all-time performance during the last years. Exceptions: the marathon, Wayde, Genzebe (before the Aden bust) and Ayana.
http://www.alltime-athletics.com/men.htmFor example, we already saw the 10000 and the 100 at the weekend:
100 m: Here Gatlin is the only one in the top 20 since 2013, on place 9 in 2015 with a 9.74.
10000 m: Here Paul Tanui has the fastest time since 2013, place 37 in 2014 with a 26:49.41.
