Ostrander ran a brilliant race and ran the kick out of Purrier, then had a kick of her own. Extremely impressive. Last mile must have been under 5 min

I have no reason to favor one runner over the other, but thought Purrier's shoes coming untied (both of the looked to be completely untied in the last lap) was a major factor in her pulling up the way she did.

how tall are the top Kenyan Woman steeplechasers? they are not much over 5' tall are they?

Gail Devers wasn't much taller and excelled in the Sprint hurdles, an event that Ostrander did when she was younger.

In an event where form isn't that crucial Ostrander is fine.

Let's see, many male hurdlers are over 6 feet tall. Ostrander is 5' tall.

Therefore... the men's hurdles should be a foot higher !!!

Yea, Boise State XC women do have a real chance at the podium next fall, IF those aforementioned athletes are all healthy and fit! With the long summer break allowing for rehab/rest, coupled with a smart build-up this could set them up for an awesome season!

Yeah, that moron likes to chime in every time there is a women's steeple post. All the evidence to the contrary (compare men's flat 3000 meter times with men's steeple times and women's flat 3000 meter times with women's steeple times). The proof is clear that the women's barriers are more impactful than the men's. Tis better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it up and remove all doubt.
