I agree with you guys about this Boulder clown. However he's not been relevant in the sport (even ultra running) scene for YEARS. It's just some kind of joke, a trick of a bored millennial's mind.

It's hard to believe how stupid you people are. Tony (as he used to post here around 2005) is more popular than ever because he runs, he rock climbs, he bikes, and he lives the life most of the people on the planet wish they could.
It was pretty hilarious all the bashing he was getting running his 200 mile weeks in the mountains. Then all the sudden he's winning the biggest ultras in the United States. Shows that this place is still inhabited by posters now just as dumb as 2005.

Anton wastes money that could go to real runners or athletes competing at a high level. There is a reason why he left New Balance and jumped back on La Sportiva. More money? Yes. New Balance didn't want to pay him anymore for not doing anything. Typical self-indulgent Trumpesque dude.

He did great marketing for new balance despite only being a 16min 5k 2:40something marathoner (and that's for a male, not a female). Even females with those times can't manage to make a living in the sport these days....

Winning races may or may not have anything to do his ability to establish the image they are looking for and reach their customer base. He's selling a lifestyle, a philosophy, an ideal.
