Pre comes too early in the season for athletes to be in their best competition shape. Thus the only way Tom Jordan can promote the meet is to load it up with names -- (mainly) Nike stars, World/Olympic medalists who may be past their prime and world record holders ditto.
In the whole history of Pre there have been only 4 world records set, only 1 at an Olympic distance. Mary Slaney's 5k in 1982.
That said, Dibaba ran very fast here two years ago and she generally runs very fast indoors and early outdoor season.
