The world won't do anything because he's not running almost 8 seconds per mile faster than the current world record---which was run with pace makers, on a pancake flat course and near perfect weather. Dropping another 3 minutes??? No way, it's not going to happen in May either.

Bikila would have worn one though. He would also have worn shoes if he had the choice. Bill Rodgers told me that he always wears a watch now and he recommends everyone does even though he didn't way back when. Your comment is so stupid it's like saying runners should not be allowed to wear shorts but rather should have to wear Dockers or something.

Yeah, gotta agree. What's up with LR posters??? And besides, if you know anything about London, you know that most all the runners there forego their watches (and thus shed a little bit of weight and increase their running economy) and just look up occasionally at Big Ben to get splits. Precisely what Wanjiru was doing those last 2 miles, not checking on KB, but glancing over at Big Ben to calculate pace.

This is not a surprise.
Nike's stupid $250 shoes gave Kenenisa a blister, hamstring problems and form problems, which was also a major factor in this London marathon debacle.
