Actually, on over 2,500 occasions has a runner broken 10.10--scarcely comparable.More importantly, it puts Hasay in the same league as Flanagan and Kastor, both Olympic medalists, and that's very good company to be part of. Also, such a performance and the prospects it suggests can serve as a beacon for other much younger American female runners.

For all we know she could be a Desi-Deena-Joan type who can double her HM time + 3-5 minutes. That puts her in contention to be a 2:19-21 marathoner, hence why we're excited.
Jordan Hasay has always been a class act. Never made excuses about poor performances, never down the wrong road when dealing with the pressure and expectations of being in the spotlight at such a young age.
Dealing with the loss of her mother this past year must have been difficult, yet she is performing at a high level.
