Allie is the same age as when Emma ran 10:06. I'm not saying she will progress at the same rate or even that this is her best event but a 9:55 is nothing to laugh at. It took Coburn 7 years to lower her time 59 seconds. Allie only has to drop 48 seconds.

And Coburn has her by 7 inches in height, huge advantage.

Allie is 20. Emma ran 9:37 at age 20.

More impressive is the 8:33 by Michael Jordan. If anyone wants proof as to how good NBA players are at running here it is.

It wasn't that Jordan; it was the actor Michael Jordan.

Wow - well Allie might as well give up the steeple!

You all make it seem like this was the best we will see from her the rest of the year. She's coming off an injury and probably isn't in her tippy top shape; not to mention that it's her first go at it.

If she runs it again, later in the season, she'll crush 9:37.

As long as Allie can keep injury free, whatever event she chooses to specialize in she will succeed. She's a winner. All you have to do is watch her race and see her enthusiasm and passion in interviews.

The idea of specializing in one event can sometimes take the fun out of running.

Watched her interview after the race on Flo. She says she did the steeple to maintain a "family tradition," was looking for a low-pressure way to ease back into racing, and was happy her coach let her try. She said it, and I think its that simple. When asked, she did not know what race or event she was doing next this Spring.

Yes, but the physical damage has already been. Would be surprised to see her complete the season injury free.

Anyone see that she was listed in the 10k for Mt. Sac? I mean she was listed in the 5k as well, but I'm curious what she could do in a 10k after seeing Rohrer's performance at Stanford.

Not a big fan of nose rings, but she does look like she has had a physical change,hopefully she'll continue to run healthy and not get caught in the injury syndrome caused by weight loss issues.
