There were 1200 tickets sold although there was a line outside. The homestretch bleachers which seat 1500 were about 2/3rd full, and the backstretch bleachers which seat 500 were very full. Stop talking out of your sarcastic ass please.
It's even more sad that Kincaid and Hill closed in 26 low for their final 200 after letting Chelimo gap by 10 seconds, yet Chelimo ran a 27 last lap. Pathetic lol, they came to race and tempo'd instead. Altitude is absolutely no excuse here. Also what the hell is up with the 600 prelims? Only 1 runner got out of some of the heats on both the men and women's sides. Hard to take USATF seriously after that.
Also I think it's funny to mention that Craig Lutz didn't even break 9 minutes in the 2 mile.
14.6 second adjustment for steeple for Abq, so if the 3k gets about that adjustment, that would make Chelimo's 8:28 worth 8:14, and the 8:38's would be worth 8:24. Chelimo was born and raised at altitude and trains there as well, while Hill and others were not and train at sea level, so that might explain what otherwise would seem utterly ridiculous, a 10 second gap between them and a 31 second gap to the American record for a guy like Hill who is in shape to run around 8:10 at sea level. Why wouldn't he even try to stick otherwise?

Yes, undoubtedly, altitude slowed things down. But still - this is a race, not a TT. You can't let someone gap you like that so easily. At least try to put yourself in a position to win the race.
Kincaid grew up in Littleton, CO about 5300-5400 feet.
And he's been training at 300' for at least five years. Give the guy a break. He ran a massive 13:12 last week.

Portland, indeed entire state of Oregon, has not a single indoor track facility. When neighboring states major D1 schools and some not so major schools have indoor facilities its just embarrassing. In Washington there is UW, Wazzu and Eastern Washington. Idaho has Boise, U of I and Idaho State all with facilities.
But this meet should be held on east coast at Armory or Boston. Having it at altitude and remote from over 99% of the competitors is just foolish.
Looking forward to the 600 Korir has the Alt record at 1:14.97 and that may be in jeopardy . Sowinski looked really good over the last 200 and Lox is Lox .

Portland's average monthly lows don't even drop below freezing. Who the Hell would build an Indoor Facility for that?
The 600 should be fun with Sowinski, Loxsom, Walker, and Brazier. The high 1:19s were pretty ugly.
