Like no one ever considers work at 5k pace to be strength for a marathoner but for a miler it might be considered a strength workout. So easy aerobic mileage would fall under this. For me, the term strength literally means to be strong. You need to be strong to push through the pain during the middle of the race. You also need to be strong to have a kick.
