Which means he could never escape me, since I could just sprint and catch him. Of course, it also means I could never escape him, since he could just patiently follow me until his better endurance catches me. Unless I gap him enough to find somewhere to hide, or to throw him off my trail.
That's really easy to do unless you are in a wide open space. It's not like he's going to follow you like a bloodhound.
