Don't do it. You do not meet the requirements of being 21 and residing in a jurisdiction where medical or regular cannabis is legal.
Your post reminded me of the first time I was offered pot. Summer before I turned 14.

There are experiences on the web that got the feeling of derealization/ depersonalization after smoking or alcohol, google "derealization weed" you find a lot of people got that experience, these people go to forums because they don't know what is happening to them. I know the feeling and it is the worst feeling in the world, I've been through dere/depersonalization many times in my life but not for smoking weeds or alcohol, but because of ocd...
I came back to normal multiple times after getting the feeling, sometimes the feeling staied with me 5 days, sometimes 3-4 hours, now is staying with me for more than 3 years, it is better now but I still feel it...
It's the smoke and addiction to totobacco smoke that will probably be worst for you

I smoked pot more than once, or twice when I was your age (okay, about a dozen times). I ran 4:16 in HS. So it did not hurt my performance (though, who knows, maybe I would have been a sub 4:10 guy).
Even, though, I stopped after 3-4 months, I wish I had not tried until I was fully developed and grown - age 25 or so.
You have a full life ahead of you to try pot, don't let it mess up your development.

Sure, it might not hurt you all that much to smoke weed once, but there's no guarantee that you'll be able to make yourself stop after you've tried it. Why would you risk a lifetime of drug addiction?

Nah I smoke every day and did all through college where I kept improving. Key is to use a vape to keep the lungs in check

There are real risks with marijuana use, particularly at a young age. However it does not do anybody any good to post falsehoods.

Marijuana is much less addictive than many other legal and illegal substances. Only 9% of users develop dependence. Much less than nicotine, which is 32% or alcohol, which is 15%. Here's the study:

Yes, I know you and others will claim that you are just trying it once. Well everyone who ruined their life on drugs and/or alcohol just tried it for fu nthe first time.

Nah. I know plenty of kids in the 16s in HS who would smoke regularly. I would advise, however, using edibles or vaporizer.
you probably won't get high but might. you may start a habit that could destroy you or lead you to other drugs that could destroy you.
You may make yourself ineligible for certain jobs, like the military or police (airplane pilot?), or any job that requires a security clearance (they used to ask have you EVER used such and such and may still do this or they may currently ask if you have only used in the last 5, 7, or 10-yrs - I'm not sure of current policy).
If you get arrested while doing it, that can affect you in many ways also.
Don't do it and hang out with friends who are non-user.
From someone who grew up the 70's and saw a LOT of people totally mess themselves up with drugs.

matters what grade of stuff he uses. I do know the average stuff out there is more potent than the 70s although there was very potent stuff available then also.

I smoked about daily (usually mult times/day) from 8th grade tell middle of senior year in high school. I still regret it immensely (am 55 now). I dropped out of a lot of activities due to it and was only interested in getting high. Had a lot of friends really mess themselves up on drugs. Marijuana, especially the strong stuff, is not good for us!
I used to smoke a lot in college and was still able to run these times:

5k: 14:20
8k xc: 24:20

Matters how much you smoke. Were you a daily smoker? Also there is more than just athletic performance to consider such as your brain, legal issues, job issues, providing a gateway to other stuff that could be very harmful. Why gamble, it is smart not to mess with this stuff. Did it make you better? I doubt it! Very little to gain and a lot to lose.
