We've come a long way from Bowerman peeing on guys in the shower.
We've come a long way from Bowerman peeing on guys in the shower.
Like most things in life that seem like they will be weird, it takes about two days to be completely over it.
Do you want to shower with your team??? If so, you can find some hints that will tell you they shower together. I can go ahead and tell you the Baylor men's team most likely showers together. Too many big white PK's not too.
At my high school (all guys) no one showered there unless it was an absolute must. At most one or two guys would be in the 10 or so stalls together. I went to school after the priest scandal, and somehow didn't think it was odd that there was a window into the shower from the coaches office. By the time I got there it was frosted over and you could only roughly count the people in there, not see anything.
In college, the guys would regularly shower together, but the girls wouldn't. The girls would go to dinner smelly and shower in the dorms. Guys would let the school do their laundry and half of the girls would do their own laundry. Showers were quick because hot water was only for the football and basketball team.
Where I used to work we would shower together after playing staff five a side football (all women) in lunch time, rather than go back to work stinky
I don't shower. The incidences of water born virus infections are continuing to increase. I refuse to put myself at risk through the unnecessary action of showering. No need to shower when you use good deodorant.

Do college teams shower together? Are they in shorts or naked? Nobody used the showers at my high school.
o
We always did and no, no one ever wore shorts. That would have seemed really weird. We always changed into our gear in the locker before practice so going back and showering in the dorm wasn't really an option. But that was a long time ago.
As you've probably gathered, it varies by school.
My university had a small campus, and we didn't meet near the locker room for most of our runs, so we didn't usually shower together after practice. However, we did shower after races before getting on the bus. Most guys wore shorts, some didn't. It was never weird.
my d3 team showered together in the buff, sometimes with the football/soccer teams as well. one year my friend bought a tetherball and we tied it to the center support in the shower room and played shower tetherball. i'm pretty sure football/soccer guys didn't didn't think we were any weirder than before.
funniest moment was when the tetherball smacked a freshman in the face while he was washing his hair and gave him a bloody nose.
The real question is how many of you got b0ner$ while showering with the team...I think that's what the OP is afraid of.
yeah showering together is normal...first day of preseason is funny when the freshmen kinda nervously drop their shorts like"they all actually do this...?"
day 2 they're fully adjusted so to speak
no homo
Wow, group showering in shorts...unbelievable.
At my school all of the teams used the showers. What else are you going to do if you have to go to class or study on campus after practice?
You don't plan your showertime so the whole team goes at once but you're going to be on a similiar schedule so its going to happen with you teammates and probable other teams.
I can understand some highschoolers nervousness about this but you get used to it pretty quick. Guys were mature and people aren't comparing in the showers.

The guys at my school shower at the athletic facility just because it's faster and we can all go eat together
Your team probably ate in the shower.
I've had that happen a few times. It's as embarrassing as f@ck, but the guys didn't say anything.
As a recently graduated D1 runner I'm pretty blown away to know there are schools where teams DON'T shower together... pretty sure everyone above the age of 14 knows that's standard locker room procedure

So the media tells me that the Millennials constantly watch porn on their phones, and yet, these kids are afraid to take a shower with their teammates?
What are you guys afraid of? Your teammates, some of them will be your best friends for life, and you are afraid to take a post-workout shower with them? It's just anatomy, your best friends aren't going to rape you.
We used to have a yearly naked race around campus--pretty sure we left all our PRs out there, trying not to get caught buy UPD. Guess those days are over--you kids are afraid of EVERYTHING!!!
+1 but I don't know if Brad is actually about that life

These millennials are just so insecure. Back in the day,
My D1 team showered after practice and no one gave it a thought.
Do you think the football and hockey teams are afraid to shower at the same time?
OK, maybe not at Penn State,

Surprised at the answers here wrote:Everybody on my D1 team showered in the locker room shower... It wasn't a big deal, and it would have been strange and inconvenient not to shower there. People get used to it and it's not awkward at all. We had normal conversations...
I went to a D3 school, graduating a few years ago, and we all showered together daily (or twice daily in some cases). WAY faster and more convenient than trekking back to a dorm room and showering alone. After practice we'd shower then walk up to the dining hall together. Also, once you are over the awkwardness, group showers can be a lot of fun. I don't mean this in a sexual way at all, but we always had a great time in the showers, lots of joking around, singing, etc. Definitely one of the highlights of the day and we'd often take pretty long showers since we were having fun. Also, to this day I could probably ID the majority of people I ran with from dick pics alone, so I guess that is another plus?
no homo, of course.
