Also, Sanya is great.

Sanya's fine. Her voice is smoothing General audiences will like her. Just watch the races. How much "expert" commentary do you need?
I had low expectations when she said she was going to be a broadcaster and was surprised to find out that meant she was going to start immediately. But she's been fine, quite good even considering her lack of experience.

A great color commentator if he ever retires would be Lagat. He is totally at ease during interviews, never talks about deities, and offers great insights about training and race tactics.
He would be the John Madden of commentary for all events 800 and above.

Ding! Ding! Ding!
I liked Sanya. This was probably her first time ever doing a broadcast. She did very well.
It was so much better with Ato, Sanya, and Tim (a British accent just makes everything sound better and more exciting).
The coverage is improved by 327% just by making Tom Hammond stop talking.
It is improved by another 89.8% by making Craig Masback stop talking.
I don't think anything can top Willie Smith's first (and last) announcing job.
They should get Tara Lapinski and Johnny Weir. Everyone loves those two

I didn't think the announcing at this meet could get worse. Then they added Sanya Richards.
Nobody will ever be as awful as Carol Lewis (at anything, ever). But Sanya is just plain BORING.
Anyone is better than listening to Larry Rawson.

I actually like Larry Rawson. He knows he is over the top and just goes with it.
Sanya started out a little shaky but once she got comfortable, sounded a lot better and provided some good insight.
Tom Hammond is pretty old and has had some health problems. It looks like they are starting to cut back on his time and probably will retire after the games.

I completely agree. She is both knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

Sanya is a great announcer. Quick smarts, great stories, great insight. I'm impressed with how easily she has transitioned.

not all that bad (MUCH better than Mashack) but her delivery is a little deliberate
I'm glad I'm not the only one that dislikes Masback's commentary.

Oh really? What about professional eating? I'd put good money on Carol to take down Joey Chestnut.
When Trump becomes President they all go home. No sound. Pictures only.
What???! I thought she was awesome. What the heck are your expectations? If that wasn't good enough for you, you must think you are a highly superior being. But a highly superior being would never have started this thread.

Love it! But another reason to love ice skating!
We need more flamboyance in our sports! That doesn't necessarily mean from the male side either. About all we have left these days is Maggie Vessey.

Doesn't work for NBC
He works for ESPN only now, and has been busy burning the bridges to NBC on his Twitter with fiery passion.
