We have it easy in the USA. Restrooms everywhere.
I travel in Mexico/Central America a lot. Plenty of restrooms but you usually have to pay. They're nasty, but at least cheap. They take the toilet seats off for some random reason.
A couple of years ago in Paris I used one on the street that cleaned itself after every use. Problem was it took forever, someone in there 3-5 minutes, then a 3+ minute cleaning. Stand around forever just to take a piss.
Worst restroom ever was some dump near a Paris train station. It was basically a metal shipping container with a toilet in it. Covered in excrement, stuff all over the floor, I think it cost 2 euro -- what a rip.
The take off the toilet seats because the Muslims crouch on top of the toilet instead of sitting down.

In Central America, there are no muslims to speak of. Someone told me they sell the seat separately there and why bother paying for something extra to clean?
Just used a public 'restroom'. Toilet was intact, seat and all, facilities were clean and in good order.

You should check out the restroom at the bar, Felix, on top of the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. Great view of the city.
And apparently there is a website that rates urinals and this one came in at #4.

Ok Pee snob, Did you pee off the Eiffel Tower and if so from the top? I wouldn't call FBI head quarters historically significant, unless it was J. Edgar's personal bathroom.
