Centro not 100%, Andrews doesn't look like the Andrews of 2015, Manzano done, Merber injured, Torrence to Peru. That leaves Blankenship the man. He ran 3:52 or 3:53 at the Bowerman mile. Altho that's only a 3:36 for 1500 and that's what Murphy and Alexander have run. Still think Centro and Andrews are the guys to beat. May be a great battle for 3rd.

We are seeing a changing of the guard. Centro, Andrews and Blankenship are still young and consistent but there is a new crop of milers coming round that are exciting to watch. These are our milers of the future.

I'm talking about Clayton Murphy---has it all. Poise, speed, endurance, racing savvy. And from Akron of all places...

I'm talking about Colby Alexander--- since leaving Oregon last June he hasn't had one bad race. He's always way under 3:40 and he's consistent as hell. He's a fierce racer. Love to watch this kid race. He takes down really good runners consistently.

I'm talking about Izaic Yorks--- not afraid of anything or anybody! Will take it out and hammer if he has to. A 3:53 collegiate miler. Don't see that too often.

I'm talking about Johnny Gregorek--- son of an Olympian. Got the genes. Another guy that never runs a bad one. Three outdoor meets this year 3:39 then 3:38 then 3:37. Gotta love the progression. Another 2015 Oregon grad.

I'm talking about Henry Wynne --- Cut from the same mold as Yorks.

These guys have the speed, the finishes and the competitive, fearless chops to be our next crop of great U.S. Milers.

Should make for exciting trials!

True still hasn't really figured out the 10,000 on the track but he is solid on the roads. He definitely has potential to get within a couple seconds of the 5,000 AR if in a quick diamond league race.

Being injured this Winter may pay off well for him, every race is getting better and better and he will be ready to go for the trials. He will most likely be in contention for a medal going into the last lap at the Olympics.

Start begging now, cause that's about what running a 3:58 1500 will get you. Honestly he needs 3 hots and a cot more than anything right now. It also doesn't help that he looks completely homeless either.

True is a real professional. Not panicking with his injury. Just methodically getting back in the game and peaking at the right time. Darkhorse.

Don't forget McGorty and Fisher. Sure they are more 5000 types, but they have the wheels.

No point in racing until he can be competitive and test his fitness (which it is apparent he has none right now).

I'm not sure what's up with him - he ran a 3:38 a month ago, but for whatever reason, the wheels have fallen off somehow. And didn't he pace a 1500 through 1100 in 2:40 just a week ago?
