Ah, there it is. Why would you be worried about your 8k being bad when your 600 is so fast? It's a requisite thing.

I like being a good middle distance runner, sure. But I don't want XC to be a waste of time, which I feel like it has been.
As a fast-twitch guy you may be prone to overtraining with conventional distance training. What is a sample of your early fall XC training?
45 mile weeks
Workout: 1k and 2k repeats totalling an 8k @ 3:25 and 7:00 respectively, w 3 min recovery.
Workouts: 10 min warmup, 10 at 5:20 pace, 5 min jog, 10 min at 5:20, 10 min cooldown.
Long run: 9-12 miles at 7:20-7:40 pace.
Rest of the days are easy 30-45 min runs.
